At esmero we unveil Argentina in a different way by creating sweet moments of happiness with our original gourmet products.

Esmero is the first production atelier and shop in Belgium solely dedicated to handcrafting Argentinian confectionaries: alfajores and dulce de leche

Esmero means doing things with great care, love and attention. This reflects how we make our products: always aiming for top quality.

Values

Handcrafted

Our cookies and dulce de leche are handcrafted using traditional methods. We carefully assemble each alfajor by hand.

No shortcuts! We make our dulce de leche by boiling fresh milk gently and slowly for up to 6 hours. No condensed milk cans in our atelier!

Real ingredients

We only use fresh and natural ingredients such as, whole eggs, fresh milk, orange zest, walnuts and vanilla extract as natures provides.

We stay away from conservatives, artificial flavourings and palm oil.

Local

Our production lab and shop are based in the east of Brussels, in the borough of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert.

Ingredients such as milk, flour, chocolate, sugar, eggs are all sourced from Belgian farmers and producers.

Light and less sugar

We wish to create modern and healthy delicacies. Hence, we have worked hard adapting traditional recipes to achieve lightest alfajores.

Our biscuits are airy, crumbly and full of subtle flavours.

Our dulce de leche contains less sugar than industrial versions.

The hands, heart and soul behind the brand

Florencia grew up in the countryside of the Córdoba province in central Argentina. She comes from a family where the tradition of homemade cooking holds a special place. Today, it is these same values that Florencia holds dear while carrying out her project.

A descendant of Italian and French immigrants, Florencia inherited a passion for baking and bringing joy to others from her Italian maternal grandmother and her parents.

After studying law, Florencia traveled the world, residing in Australia, South Africa, Italy and Germany before establishing herself in London and embarking in a career in the City.

Recently making Belgium her home, she opted for a career change, deciding to make her passion her profession.
